As HR Advisor Crew, you are the trusted HR partner for managers within our Ship Management Department. You provide professional advice on a broad range of people topics and ensure that HR policies, procedures and employment legislation are applied consistently and effectively.


You support managers throughout the employee lifecycle, from onboarding to performance management and offboarding. Whether advising on absenteeism, employee relations, performance, development or engagement, you help managers make well-informed people decisions while balancing business needs and employee wellbeing.

Working closely with HR Business Partners, HR Operations and the Center of Expertise, you contribute to the continuous improvement of HR processes, tools and initiatives. You also support organizational changes and help implement the HR strategy and annual people plan within your business area.


Your workplace
 You will be part of the SMD HR team supporting our Ship Management Department (Crew). Together with HR colleagues and specialists across HR Operations and the Centers of Expertise, you provide high-quality HR support to an international workforce operating across the globe.

In this role, you work closely with managers, crew coordinators and HR colleagues, acting as the link between the business and HR while contributing to the development of our people and organization.

YOUR IMPACT
  • As the first point of contact for managers on people-related matters, you help create a consistent and positive employee experience. By providing practical HR advice, coaching managers and ensuring compliance with HR policies, you contribute to engaged employees and effective leadership. You play an important role in resolving employee relations matters, supporting absence management, performance and talent development, and driving the successful implementation of HR initiatives. Through your collaborative approach and continuous focus on improvement, you help strengthen our HR services and support the successful delivery of our worldwide operations.
ABOUT YOU
  • A Bachelor's degree or equivalent HBO level of working and thinking, preferably in Human Resource Management or a related field.
  • Several years of experience in a generalist HR Advisory role.
  • Solid knowledge of Dutch employment legislation and HR practices.
  • Experience advising and coaching managers on a broad range of HR topics.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • A proactive, collaborative and customer-focused mindset.
  • Excellent command of both Dutch and English, spoken and written.
