About the role: 

Location: Macaé, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Hours: Full-time

The Project Manager has a crucial role in ensuring the success of projects by coordinating with various departments and subcontractors. The cross-functional collaboration is essential for meeting deadlines and maintaining efficiency.

You'll play a key role in shaping the future of our growing Brazil operation, taking ownership of projects and helping establish how we deliver for our customers. You’ll gain broad hands-on experience and real responsibility within a small team, where your contribution is visible, valued, and directly impacts the success and growth of the business.

The successful candidate will also be required to spend an initial period in the UK to undertake training and familiarisation with Motive equipment.

About the team:

As a part of our Brazil team, you’ll become part of a small, hardworking, and skilled team who work to a high standard and specification. Reporting to the Regional Manager for Brazil, you'll also become part of the wider America's team and be supported by our team of onshore and offshore personnel working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment. 

And you’ll be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team in the UK and globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopting and promoting the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout day-to-day tasks and decision making.
  • Define project scope, goals, and deliverables in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Allocate resources effectively to ensure project success.
  • Lead and motivate project teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Facilitate team meetings, workshops, and discussions as needed.
  • Prepare and present project reports to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Foster a collaborative and positive team environment.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, suppliers, and external partners.

Planet 

  • Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
  • Responsible for ensuring that project activities comply with all relevant Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality (HSEQ) processes, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and manage project risks and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.

Product

  • Liaise closely internally to ensure scopes of work, project specifications, priorities, plans, schedules, and any other information required to successfully deliver against all clients’ requirements are clearly communicated, understood, and agreed.
  • Develop detailed project plans, including tasks, timelines, and resource allocation.
  • Monitor project progress, track milestones, and manage potential delays.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure that costs remain within approved limits.
  • Conduct regular quality checks to ensure project deliverables meet established standards.
  • Handle scope changes through formal change control processes.
  • Evaluate project performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Perform monthly project reviews ensuring stakeholder sign-off and timely project closure.
  • Document project processes, lessons learned, and best practices for future reference.
  • Liaise with third party contractors to ensure full compliance with the specific requirements of a project and manage contractors when on site.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Demonstrable experience in the management and provision of services preferably in Marine Engineering and Construction including flexibles, flowlines, risers, umbilical installations etc.
  • Demonstrable operational experience supporting client organisations, leading teams and strong commercial awareness with excellent safety behaviours and focus on customer satisfaction.
  • Project Management and/or business qualification.
  • Relevant Engineering Degree or equivalent technical qualification with industry experience.
  • Experience of managing complex engineering projects in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
  • Excellent communication skills (advanced English).
