Your Work Context

Knowledge of the Dutch language is a prerequisite for this job

At Jan De Nul, we are building the world of tomorrow. Whether it’s sustainable infrastructure or complex civil engineering projects, quality is the foundation of everything we do. As a Quality Advisor, you are the guardian of our standards. You are not merely an inspector, but a strategic partner ensuring that our projects in Belgium are delivered to the highest technical standards and built to stand the test of time.

Your Role

From our headquarters in Aalst, you play a key role within the central QHSSE department. You are the link between our international standards and the reality on site. You guide projects from the very first tender phase through to final completion.

Your tasks and responsibilities:

  • Project Guidance: You develop quality plans and implement our management systems on site, fully aligned with customer requirements and applicable legislation.
  • Advising & Coaching: You are the go-to person for project teams. You provide advice during the prequalification and start-up phases and train teams to raise quality awareness to the next level.
  • Monitoring & Optimisation: Through regular site visits and audits, you keep your finger on the pulse. You identify deviations, investigate their root causes and implement corrective measures promptly.
  • Collaboration: You work closely with suppliers, subcontractors and colleagues at headquarters to continuously improve our processes.

What do you need?

  • You have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field.
  • You have several years of experience in quality within the construction industry.
  • Fluency in Dutch is a must.
  • You are systematic and appreciate structure. At the same time, you are pragmatic enough to adapt to new sites and teams. You are confident in rolling out systems and supporting teams in their implementation.
  • You excel in communication, coaching and guidance, have a problem-solving mindset and take initiative to improve both project quality and the overall quality management system.

You will be based at our headquarters in Aalst and will regularly travel to our project sites.

Working at Jan De Nul

What do we offer you?

  • Through the JDN-Academy, we provide you with a continuous training program.

  • A caring culture: Through our FIT program, we focus on your well-being with attention to physical activity, nutrition, and various team activities.

  • An indefinite-term contract with 42 paid vacation days (20 statutory, 12 ADV days, and 10 holidays — depending on your working schedule). This position is subject to construction leave.

  • An attractive salary with a 13th month and double vacation pay, including:

    • Meal vouchers and eco vouchers.

    • A company car with a Belgian fuel card.

    • A fixed expense allowance (based on your employment schedule).

    • The possibility of bike leasing (under the Flex Reward program).

    • Group insurance and hospitalization coverage.

    • Option for an iPhone with a phone and data plan (with a contribution).

    • Various staff discounts.

  • The chance to make a difference with your colleagues, in a stable and growing family business.

*Applicable to Belgian contracts only.
