Dixstone
Overview:
He is the first point of contact for all IT related queries at the user level for Dixstone employees based or in rotation in UAE. Responding to user needs in a timely manner and ensuring the optimal running of all systems, among other technical duties. With a great troubleshooting abilities and attention to detail, he is responsible for maintaining the integrity of end user devices and associated software. He has thorough knowledge of computer software and hardware and a variety of internet applications, networks, and operating systems. His main working office is at DAFZA at Dubai, and he must be able to move between the offices and the yards where the Dixstone staff are working when required. Depending to the nature of the need, he will intervene on Dixstone assets in UAE. He is under Dixstone IT Manager responsibility technically.
Responsibilities:
- To provide support to users and being the first point of contact.
- To install and maintain computer systems and networks aiming for the highest functionality.
- To set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices.
- To installing and configure corporate software and functions according to specifications.
- To conduct regular system backups and data recovery in case of system failures.
- To troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
- To repair or replace damaged hardware.
- To perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems.
- To perform a first technical diagnostic in case of IT outage and escalate unfixed diagnosed issue to Dixstone L2.
Operating IT tasks
• Monitoring and maintaining computer systems and networks to ensure smooth operation and to identify and address problems promptly.
• User and Email account creation and deletion following Group IT Policy and local regulation.
• Grant and remove shared folders access permission.
• Set up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices (monitor, printers etc.)
• Check end-user hardware to ensure functionality.
• Install and configure appropriate software and functions according to specifications.
• Ensure security and privacy of networks and computer systems.
• Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to use properly corporate devices.
• Organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance according to instructions received the HQ.
• Perform troubleshooting to diagnose and resolve problems (repair or replace parts, debugging etc.)
• Identify computer or network equipment shortages and place orders.
• Providing support and maintenance
• Always have infrastructure under full control. Monitoring: checks, acknowledgement, ticket creation when necessary.
Local IT life cycle
• End-of-life equipment to be decommissioned following environmental and local regulations.
• IT hardware and software to be purchased according to the approved list of computer and supported software.
• Spare follow up: No spare = No repair at the next issue.
