Life Cycle Support Manager

The role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and commercially focused Life Cycle Support Manager to lead and grow our Life Cycle Support (LCS) function.

This pivotal role is responsible for expanding Life Cycle Support offerings, increasing revenue and profitability, and strengthening relationships with customers across the offshore, marine and oil & gas sectors.

The successful candidate will drive business development activities, manage LCS workload and resource planning, lead and develop a high-performing team, and ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, customer-focused solutions.

Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, you will identify growth opportunities, develop strategic customer relationships, enhance operational processes, and help position the business as a trusted partner throughout the lifecycle of its equipment and services.


You will be responsible for:
  • Maintaining and improving relations between IHC and existing equipment owners through
  • Delivery of timely LCS service to clients
  • Maintaining contact with clients and instigating regular scheduled meetings covering delivery of existing work and future opportunities to assist (all LCS services).
  • Working with the appropriate business development and sales teams to build strong relationships with targeted customers
  • Establishing quality relationships with key customer decision makers to understand their business drivers
  • Manage LCS workload and capacity
    • Manage the preparation and delivery of proposals for LCS scopes
    • Input LCS forward load requirements / expectations into the overall lookahead
    • Work within a matrix structure to secure resources need to deliver LCS projects
    • Expand the LCS team through recruitment and staff development. Particular priority is a dedicated sales function within LCS
  • Development and maintenance of LCS processes such as
    • Dashboard with all current projects/active booking codes visible
    • Vessel/Equipment tracking (location, planned maintenance periods and future projects)
    • Equipment modification tracking – system so that the current status of equipment is known and all previous work related to it is locatable
    • Spare parts replacement predictor (wear parts life etc.) and pro-active sales
    • Customer contact points
  • Delivering profitable LCS services
  • Management and development of the LCS function to achieve growth targets.
  • Develop the link with Rentals to offer support for this business area too (modifications, deck layouts, sea-fastening etc.)
  • Raise internal customer focus; ensure the identification and communication of customers’ drivers, requirements and concerns are relayed into to the business to help improve product and service offering and enhance our competitive position.
  • Analyse markets including competitor activities to predict future requirements and potential opportunities for business growth.
  • Ensure all work is executed safely and to appropriate quality standards.
  • Liaise closely with LCS functions in all other IHC companies and establish an agreed set of LCS protocols for providing support across integrated projects.
  • Other duties as defined by a director of the company.
Knowledge and experience:
  • Significant operational experience in a similar environment
  • Business development experience
  • Detailed understanding and implementation of sales strategies
  • Proven track record in customer relationship building skills
  • Well-connected in the oil & gas, offshore and marine industries
  • Experience of managing multiple projects in a quick-response environment (actively plan, manage and participate in the day-to-day activity of projects to maximize customer satisfaction levels)
  • Experience of leading and motivating a diverse team
  • Sound commercial and contractual skills
  • Excellent technical writing skills
  • Presentation Skills
Qualifications:
  • Relevant engineering degree or similar

General:
  • Mobile as significant travel is involved – UK and international such as customer visits and attendance at relevant exhibitions and shows
