De functie
Als medewerker in de dok en hellingploeg op de locatie Oudeschild, werk je in een functie die veelzijdig en afwisselend is. Je werkt in teamverband mee aan het indokken en uitdokken van schepen. Als het schip eenmaal droog staat voer je reparatie werkzaamheden zoals het (de)monteren van schroeven, roeren, schroefassen, laswerkzaamheden en onderhoud van anker- en kettingwerk.
Het gaat om een bijzonder en uniek vak dat je niet op school leert en stevige eisen stelt aan je fysieke gesteldheid. Werkzaamheden kunnen ook buiten de reguliere werkuren plaatsvinden en de daarbij passende mentaliteit. Je bent nauwkeurig en hebt een goed veiligheidsbewustzijn. Heb je al technische kennis en wil je verder groeien in het vak? Binnen een aantal jaar kun je doorgroeien naar de functie van dokmachinist.

Damen Shipyards Den Helder is een scheepwerf waar op dit moment ongeveer 70 mensen werkzaam zijn. Onze klanten vinden we in elke maritieme markt, maar vooral ook bij de overheid als de Koninklijke Marine en de Rijksrederij. Wij zijn een onderdeel van de divisie Damen Shiprepair binnen de Damen Group. Je komt terecht in een organisatie waar hard wordt gewerkt, maar ook veel wordt gelachen. Wij bieden een informele werkomgeving waar geen dag hetzelfde is en waar je samenwerkt met betrokken collega's die allen dezelfde passie delen: het repareren van schepen.
