SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

As our new Group Controller, you will join the Holding Finance team and help shape the future of our global finance function. You'll be responsible for strengthening financial governance, driving standardization, supporting finance transformation across the group and improving reporting quality.

This is a highly visible role with exposure to senior finance leadership and close collaboration with regional finance teams, business controllers and process owners worldwide. You'll combine technical accounting expertise with process improvement, systems knowledge and stakeholder management to help build a best-in-class finance organization.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

As Group Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while driving continuous improvement across our global finance organisation. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Lead initiatives that improve financial processes, internal controls and governance across the group 
  • Drive process standardisation and automation within Finance, leveraging SAP S4 and related technologies
  • Drive the implementation and governance of our global month-end close process, including the rollout of a standardised financial close policy and SAP S4 Financial Closing Cockpit
  • Develop KPI’s and reporting that provide insight into the effectiveness and performance of finance processes
  • Monitor and improve the quality, consistency and timeliness of group financial reporting across all companies
  • Develop, maintain and improve group accounting policies and ensure consistent IFRS application throughout the organisation
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and support local finance teams with IFRS interpretation
  • Coordinate period-end and year-end reporting activities and strengthen the global financial control framework
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and work closely with internal and external auditors
  • Control the Group's IFRS 16 lease accounting process
  • Act as a trusted business partner for senior finance leadership, influencing decisions and supporting continuous improvement across the global finance team

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or a related field
  • Proven experience in finance transformation, process optimization and/ or ERP implementation projects
  • Several years of experience in Group Control, Financial Reporting, External Audit or a similar finance role within an international environment
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to bring people together, achieve alignment and deliver the final solution
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead cross-functional/ global initiatives
  • An analytical and strategic mindset, combined with a pragmatic, hands-on approach to solving complex business challenges
  • The confidence to challenge existing ways of working and drive standardization and continuous improvement across the global finance team
  • The ambition and capability to grow into a broader finance management role
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S4 is an advantage
  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and consolidated financial reporting
  • Professional fluency in Dutch is a preference
