IT Engineer

Job Summary:

The IT Engineer plays a central role in maintaining, improving and troubleshooting office infrastructure, as well as ensuring all employees can do their job with regards to their work technology. This position requires strong communication skills, technical expertise, and a commitment to improvement and user experience.

Reports to: OASYS Technical Manager

Working Hours: 24-32 hours per week

Key Responsibilities:

  1. IT Infrastructure Management: Overseeing the design, implementation, and maintenance of IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems.
  2. Technical Support & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and resolving technical issues with computer hardware, software and network systems.
  3. Cybersecurity: Implementing and maintaining cybersecurity measures to protect IT systems and data, including firewalls, antivirus software, and security protocols.
  4. IT Policy Development: Developing and enforcing IT standards and procedures for operations, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
  5. System Upgrades and Maintenance: Coordinating and executing system upgrades, patches, and maintenance activities, minimizing downtime, and ensuring optimal performance.
  6. Remote Access Solutions: Implementing and managing remote access solutions to support personnel working from various locations.
  7. Data Management: Overseeing data backup and recovery processes, ensuring the integrity and availability of critical data.
  8. Collaboration Tools: Managing and optimizing collaboration tools and platforms used by teams, ensuring effective communication and information sharing.
  9. IT Training: Providing IT training to personnel, as well as promoting awareness of IT policies and cybersecurity best practices.
  10. Vendor Management: Coordinating with IT vendors to procure hardware, software, and services, ensuring cost-effectiveness and timely delivery.
  11. Emergency Response: Being prepared to respond quickly and effectively during IT-related emergencies, following established procedures to minimize disruptions.

Key Requirements:

  1. Minimum MBO level qualification in Information Technology or a related field, or certificates from accredited institutions with experience.
  2. Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  3. Proficient in Active Directory, Microsoft 365, and Linux server management.
  4. Understanding of security regulations and best practices in the IT industry.
  5. Proficient in managing IT infrastructure, including servers, networks, and communication systems.
  6. Knowledge of cybersecurity measures and best practices.
  7. Familiarity with collaboration tools and platforms.
  8. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
