Commerciële titel: Windows System Engineer

Mammoet

Posted on: July 4 2026
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

       • Senior Azure Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

       • €4.295 – €6.445 gross per month (depending on experience)

       • Location: Schiedam, Netherlands

Mammoet is only as strong as the people who work here. Together, we are the market leader in heavy lifting and transport, active in more than 60 countries. Relocating a church, placing a dome over a nuclear power plant or building a wind farm: no job is too big for us, and that goes for our IT engineers too. Our people need to be able to count on an environment that simply works, wherever they are, and you make that happen as part of our Infra team.

Where you’ll land:

You join a close-knit team of experienced engineers. We are informal, keep the lines short and like to roll up our sleeves. Together we manage and improve an environment that runs on Azure and Hyper-V, for 5,000+ colleagues worldwide. You report to your team lead and the IT Infra manager.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Taking responsibility of our Azure and Windows environment: you safeguard stability and security and participate in the decision making needed to achieve that
  • Being the first point of contact for complex challenges: you take the lead and keep going until it is resolved
  • Carrying your own complex projects, from technical design to on-time delivery, and pitching in on your colleagues’ projects
  • Being a sparring partner for your colleagues in IT and for the business: you think along about choices, risks and changes, and carry out the work yourself too
  • Taking the initiative to improve our environment: you spot what can be better, automate recurring work and follow it through

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

A true senior. Not a title, but experience: 10+ years in the field. This role is not for someone just starting out in IT. You have seen a lot, and when something breaks you think: “I’ve seen this before.” You use that gut feeling as a starting point, followed by a thorough analysis.

  • You can work independently. In a (major) incident you are one of the first responders and take the lead. You don’t fall back on the team straight away, but bring in expertise when needed. We are a small team, so we count on your independence.
  • You are also a team player. You share your knowledge and work with your colleagues on projects and problems that take more hands and hours than a simple server restart.
  • You are a true analyst. You break down a problem yourself: which components have an impact, who and what is affected, what is the full picture? AI and other tools are welcome, but your own knowledge, experience and skills remain the starting point.
  • You know what impact means. One change can affect 10 users, but also 5,000+ colleagues. You make the right decision and take the right steps. Experience in a multinational is a strong plus.
  • You communicate clearly. For a change or a high-priority incident, you keep your colleagues, IT management and the business informed clearly and on time.

What you bring:

  • 10+ years of experience as an (all-round) systems or infrastructure administrator
  • Very solid knowledge of Microsoft, in the cloud and on-premises:
    • Identity & access: Active Directory, Entra ID, Group Policy and PKI
    • Windows Server (2019 to 2025), Hyper-V, DFS and Remote Desktop Services
    • Azure: including Update Manager, Backup, Arc and Virtual Desktop
    • Microsoft SQL Server and Azure SQL Database
    • Microsoft 365 and Exchange Online
    • Microsoft Defender for Endpoint and Identity
  • Strong experience with PowerShell and automation
  • Experience with Azure DevOps
  • Experience with endpoint management (Intune, Autopilot, Always On VPN) is a plus
  • Microsoft certifications (such as AZ-104, AZ-305 or SC-300) are a plus
  • Experience in a multinational is a plus
  • Bachelor’s level (HBO) skills and thinking
  • Good command of the Dutch and English languages

WHAT YOU’LL GET

  • Based in Schiedam. Working from home is certainly possible, in consultation and as far as the work allows. You know yourself when your presence in the office is needed.
  • A challenging IT landscape. It is constantly evolving, so there is always something to get your teeth into.
  • Freedom and trust. There is room for your own initiative and input.
  • Work with visible impact. What you do is felt by our colleagues worldwide.
  • Competitive Salary: A competitive package that reflects your role as a key player in our organization
