Posted on: May 8 2026

When you think of adventure, you think of Redwise. Since 1906, Redwise has been one of the most versatile maritime employers. We specialize in a unique field: Ship Delivery. This involves transporting all types off ships worldwide from A to B for our clients, between two locations of the client, or from the seller to the buyer. In addition to Ship Delivery, we have expanded our services over the years to include crew management and North Sea pilots. With crew management, we deploy seafarers, sailing on behalf of our clients for both short- and long-term assignments. Moreover, we operate our own research vessel, the ARCTIC, which is active in the international survey and seismic market.

For the Arctic, we are currently looking for an experienced Chief Engineer.

What does a Chief Engineer do on the Arctic?

  • Manage the engine room.
  • Perform repairs on onboard technical installations and equipment.
  • Maintain a streamlined engine room administration.
  • Monitor and control the vessel’s fuel consumption.
  • Provide leadership to the engine room personnel.
  • Prepare technical reports and documentation.

What Redwise offers you:

  • A challenging role within an internationally operating company.
  • Good employment conditions, including travel expense reimbursement and a pension.
  • Opportunities to continue developing and learning.
  • Making miles: sailing as it’s meant to be.

What do you bring on board?

  • Valid Chief Engineer COC (3.000 KW of higher).
  • STCW and other relevant certificates.
  • Proven experience in the rank of Chief Engineer and diesel-electric propulsion.
  • A flexible, proactive and hand-on attitude.
  • Good communication skills.
  • A strong technical expertise.
