The role

As a Financial Controller for Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels, you contribute to the accuracy and reliability of our financial data and play a crucial role in translating these into valuable insights for our stakeholders.

The Financial Controller will be reporting to the Finance Director of Damen Offshore & Specialized Vessels division and has an important role in realizing the internal- and external financial reporting. This consists of the individual DOSV entities, cash flow planning and ad-hoc financial analyses. Additionally, you will improve the current SAP (ERP) set-up for OSV and other improvement projects. Your efforts will definitely contribute to maximizing the benefits of (available) tooling.

Key accountabilities

  • Ensures accurate and timely financial accounting, month‑end closing, and delivery of all monthly and quarterly financial reports in close contact with Financial Shared Services Center to the Director Finance and Damen Group
  • Delivers complete and correct annual accounts for OSV division and all related entities (domestic and abroad), and acts as primary contact for external auditors, ensuring timely and high‑quality audit files.
  • Contribute to the quarterly rolling forecast and annual business plan in close cooperation with the Manager Business Control and relevant stakeholders
  • Organizes, analyzes, and interprets financial data; monitors cost center budgets; prepares monthly variance analyses; and provides proactive advice on cost accounting and financial performance.
  • Delivers accurate cash flow forecasts and analyses in cooperation with business and project control to support liquidity management of the Damen Group
  • Ensures compliance with (inter)national laws, accounting standards, and Damen accounting policies; continuously improves financial control processes, GL integrity, and the planning & control cycle.
  • Contributes to financial and tax risk mitigation strategies and monitors the financial operations of subsidiary companies, including foreign entities.
  • Drives continuous improvement of departmental processes, supports knowledge development within the team, and adheres to HSSEQ standards.


Skills & experience

  • Master degree in Business Economics, Accounting or Finance or comparable experience
  • Preferably: Registered Auditor (RA)
  • 5 -7 years of relevant experience (accounting, reporting etc.);
  • Driven, ambitious and engage with an eagerness to learn and develop on a personal and professional level;
  • Accurate and well-structured. Hands-on attitude;
  • Team player: flexible and able to work in a small team within a dynamic work environment;
  • Affinity with automation and digitization of reporting processes and (Power BI) analytics;
  • Strong knowledge and experience with SAP (or familiar ERP) with drive for improvement
  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English.

  • The salary for this position ranges between € 6.100 and € 8.100 gross per month (based on a full-time contract), excluding holiday allowance. The exact salary will depend on your knowledge and experience. This position falls under the colllective labour agreement Metalektro.
