🏗️  Now Hiring: Mechanical Manager

📍 Rosharon, TX | Travel Across the U.S.

Mammoet is seeking an experienced Mechanical Manager to join our team reporting to the Operations Manager. In this role you will be responsible for managing and developing the maintenance function by implementing robust preventive and corrective maintenance strategies. This role ensures maximum equipment reliability, operational excellence, and strict safety compliance while managing the maintenance budget, asset reporting, and actively leading a skilled technical team.


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Key Responsibilities & Activities

  1. Preventive & Corrective Strategy
  • Result: Maximum fleet/equipment uptime, reliability, and cost-effective asset lifecycle management.
  • Activities:
    • Design, schedule, and execute a comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) program to minimize unscheduled downtime.
    • Oversee Corrective Maintenance (CM) actions, ensuring rapid troubleshooting, root-cause analysis, and minimal operational disruption.
    • Balance PM and CM resources effectively to optimize the maintenance schedule.
  1. Active People & Team Management
  • Result: A highly motivated, technically competent, and safe workforce.
  • Activities:
    • Actively lead, mentor, and support local shop and field technicians.
    • Manage workload distribution and prioritize maintenance tasks based on operational urgency.
    • Utilize and maintain a competency matrix to identify skills gaps and coordinate necessary technical training.
    • Conduct regular performance appraisals and foster a culture of accountability.
  1. Planning, Budgeting & Cost Control
  • Result: Maintenance activities executed within approved yearly timelines and financial frameworks.
  • Activities:
    • Contribute to and execute the yearly maintenance business plan in alignment with the broader operations strategy.
    • Develop, justify, and manage the annual maintenance department budget (including spare parts inventory, tools, and external service contracts).
    • Optimize maintenance costs and manage capital investments for technical workshop infrastructure.
  1. SHE-Q (Safety, Health, Environment & Quality)
  • Result: Zero-harm execution of all technical and shop floor activities.
  • Activities:
    • Ensure all maintenance operations comply strictly with company and regional SHE-Q standards.
    • Lead and manage technical \"toolbox\" safety meetings addressing shop-specific risks.
    • Conduct routine workplace and tooling inspections to ensure a clean, safe work environment.
  1. Reporting & Technical Insights
  • Result: Data-driven visibility into asset health and maintenance KPIs for senior leadership.
  • Activities:
    • Generate and analyze periodical reports regarding asset availability, mean time to repair (MTTR), and maintenance backlogs.
    • Provide management with timely, business-critical insights regarding fleet risks or required capital expenditure (CapEx) investments.
  1. Administration & Procurement
  • Result: Streamlined, compliant, and efficient backend operations.
  • Activities:
    • Review and approve team time-sheets and technical data entry.
    • Coordinate purchase orders (POs) for spare parts, specialty tools, and third-party vendor services.
    • Verify and process maintenance-related vendor invoices.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education: Bachelor’s Degree in a Technical, Mechanical, or Engineering discipline (or equivalent proven technical experience).

Experience: Broad and relevant experience in heavy equipment, fleet, or industrial facility maintenance, including a proven track record in a supervisory or management role.

Key Skills:

Expert Level: Preventive vs. Corrective maintenance methodology, Team Leadership/People Management.

Professional Level: Maintenance Planning & Scheduling, Budgeting & Cost Control, Fleet Management systems.

Competencies: Deciding and Initiating Action, Planning and Organizing, Delivering Results, and Coping with Pressures.
