SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Mammoet is currently looking for an energetic individual to join the Transport team on out of our Edmonton, AB main office. This position requires a candidate with an excellent work ethic who can assist the SPMT supervisor and crews in all daily tasks related to Transport operations according to all Mammoet SHE-Q, business and quality standards, policies and procedures. The successful candidate will be required to travel for work. 


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Responsibilities (including but not limited to)


• Conduct all business in a professional, respectful manner
• Following typical Mammoet methods, builds trailers using basic hand tools to prepare for heavy hauling
• Ensures all components and the SPMT systems as a whole are in good working condition
• Troubleshoots any issues seen with the trailers which do not conform to typical, approved Mammoet
    methods
• Assists in planned disassembly of SPMT’s following operation
• Assemble, disassemble, set, and configure (mechanically and electronically), operate the SPMT
  (Scheuerle) in any configuration and in any cargo type / weight, as per manufacture specifications
• Efficiently and safely carry out loading and offloading. This could include lifting, installing, rigging, and
   weighing large heavy loads
• Operate the SPMT on public roads, on ground, on floating vessel and during load out / load in
   operations
• Performs the work in compliance with the applicable safety rules
• Check and maintain the efficiency of the SPMT, execute regular maintenance, and execute problem
   shooting
• Responsible for the daily and weekly control and maintenance of the SPMT
• Participate in pre-job meetings and safety meetings (FLRA’s, JEA’s, Weekly)
• Reads and understands hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Adjusts trailers to ensure even distribution of weight across all axles, even over rough terrain
• Reports to various work sites as directed by the SPMT supervisor, dispatcher or Operations Manager
   on – time and ready to operate SPMT equipment or other assigned duties
• Has working knowledge of rigging and lashing and is able to perform basic rigging responsibilities
• Able to independently position equipment in required/desired spots with or without a load
• Assists with jacking, pumping, carriage, winch and weighing work before, during and after move.
• Must meet requirements of the position’s Physical Demands Analysis, outlined in Element 10.
• Follows all company, client and site SHE-Q including never disabling any safety devices
• Has basic knowledge of engineering drawings and is able to ensure that loads, loading methods, load
   securing, and load transport comply with the plan
• Capable of performing and checking rigging and lashing done on the SPMT and the load, to ensure that
   the move can be performed safely for personnel, load and equipment


WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Job Qualifications


Experience and Education
• 3 to 5 Years experiences in Heavy Lift / Heavy Transport industry
• 3 Years of SPMT operating
• Basic knowledge of hydraulic and electrical schematics and basic repairs
• Capable of reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematics
• Capable of reading and understanding engineered drawings
• Valid Driver’s License
• Class 1 Driver License Holder Preferred
• All necessary safety and operating tickets including:
- CSTS 9.0
- OSSA or BSO

- H2S Alive
- Fall Protection
- First Aid

- WHMIS
- Arial Work Platform
• Member of Teamster in good standing, or willing to join.


Languages
• Proficient in English, written and spoken
