Your Work Context

Jan De Nul Group is aware of the fact that its activities, dredging and offshore, often take place in very sensitive environments. The in-house Marine Environmental Department in Aalst follows up projects during every phase of the project, anywhere in the world. High tech equipment results in high end measurements. Apart from protecting biodiversity, there is also a preventive search for new methods of minimising negative impact and options for positive contributions to ecosystems.

Your Role

As an Marine Environmental Engineer you are responsible for drawing up project studies regarding environmental monitoring and management. In addition, you are responsible for its follow up during the execution of the work

  • During the procurement phase you work on the preparatory studies: preparing method statements and cost estimates
  • You implement and follow up the presupposed procedures
  • You are the contact point for the engineers working on the project (abroad)
  • Involvement in innovation projects focusing on biodiversity, ecosystems and circularity
  • You assist with modelling and material management

ProfileYou have a master’s degree in one of the following subjects: bio-engineering sciences or industrial sciences You speak fluent Dutch and English. Experience in a similar position is an advantage. You are interested in the marine world. You are willing to make short business trips.
