SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

  • Apprentice Mechanical Technician for Offshore Projects

Mammoet Offshore Services are looking for a driven, enthusiastic Apprentice to join our team. The Apprentice will be working on various mechanical and hydraulic focused maintenance tasks and equipment preparation as well as having the opportunity to get involved with complex development and rebuild projects under the supervision of a Senior Mechanic or Supervisor. 

The Apprentice's responsibilities include learning and developing practical skills, participating in classes and workshops on and offsite, observing all health and safety codes, completing tests and assignments aligned to their work. You should be well-organised, flexible and willing to assist wherever possible. 

This role is based at our site in Thornaby, Teesside and regular travel will be required both in the UK and overseas.

Applicants must have a full UK driving licence and over the age of 18 as of 1st September 2026 to apply. 


WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Working on various mechanical-hydraulic focused maintenance and equipment preparation tasks under close supervision.
  • Attending workshops at college and participating in as many learning opportunities as possible in the workplace.
  • Assisting within the workshop and yard, but also learning about other aspects of the company.
  • Observing and following all health and safety procedures.
  • Completing all tests, presentations, and other required evaluations.
  • Working in the office/workshop and travelling to other sites when required.
  • Positively receiving feedback.
  • Attending meetings/observing actions and offering suggestions for improvement.
  • Keeping a log of everything learned.
  • Building professional relationships with colleagues and clients
  • Undertake other duties compatible with your role and learning as required.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED

  • GCSE's at Grade 5 (C) or above in both Mathematics and English
  • Good written and verbal English
  • Good hand-eye co-ordination
  • Good time management is critical and interpersonal skills, being able to deal with staff at all levels
  • Excellent problem solving and troubleshooting abilities
  • Able to follow instructions to the letter
