Damen Shiprepair Curaçao (DSCu) is a growing company in the Caribbean owned by the Damen Shipyards Group. We are a renowned shipyard rich of history for more than 70 years’ that specializes in the repair and maintenance of all types of vessels. DSCu has two (2) graving docks and 1.5 kilometers of quay that enables us to provide the highest quality of service to each project with its unique challenges and requirements.
For our office in Curacao, we are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Estimator to join our dynamic Commercial Department. The Role
The Junior Estimator is responsible for preparing accurate cost estimates for ship repair projects, working closely with Commercial team, engineers, and clients to ensure all financial aspects of projects are effectively managed. KEY

ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for ship repair projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
• Analyze project specifications, drawings, and other documentation to understand project scope and requirements.
• Gather and evaluate data from various sources, including historical data, supplier quotes, and market trends, to develop comprehensive cost estimates.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and procurement teams to validate cost estimates and ensure alignment with project objectives.
• Prepare and present cost estimation reports and summaries for review by senior Estimator and clients.
• Monitor and update cost estimates throughout the project lifecycle, making adjustments as necessary to reflect changes in scope or market conditions.
•Assist in the identification and management of potential financial risks associated with project estimates.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
• MTS Diploma in ‘werktuigbouwkunde’ or a related field and a HBO-level mindset.
• Knowledge of ship repair processes and terminology is an advantage but not require
• Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong organizational and time management skills
