Internship/graduation assignment: development of bottom parts of NavNaut sensors
Based on available documentation and the measuring of parts, you will be responsible for analysing documents, including:
- composition drawings (AutoCAD)
- manufacturing drawings (AutoCAD)
- strength calculations (FEM)
- test and certification documents (Word and Excel)
- installation and maintenance manuals.
IHC has been supplying vessels with speed and depth measurements for many years. This is measured by the plane of the ship using a number of appendages. IHC is relatively specific in respect of these, however the market is currently unable to provide complete solutions. That is why we are motivated to create one for ourselves and establish a complete set of documentation for this purpose.
By delivering these documents, it becomes possible for IHC to purchase separate standardised parts. This leads to considerably shorter turnaround times and significantly lower prices.
This internship is a unique opportunity for a student to go through the different stages of the engineering and certification process based on a specific research question. There is a high level of freedom within this assignment to personally define the scope of the work required, as well as specify the contracted hours and work from home. In addition, the intensive consultation with colleagues in the company will provide an extra dimension to this role.
To be eligible for this position, you must have the following:
- excellent communication skills spoken and written in English
- be in your third or last year of a HBO degree in mechanical engineering
- have an enthusiasm for new technology
- have the ability to plan your own work
- have the ability to liaise with colleagues at all levels.
