As Manager Operations you are responsible for ensuring the execution of the voyages in a safe and reliable manner. This entails being involved in the day-to-day operation of the fleet of Anthony Veder while taking our values into account. Furthermore, you stimulate market- / customer-oriented and commercial thinking in your team and, if necessary, beyond. You make a significant contribution to formulating and executing the strategic objectives of Anthony Veder Operations and ensure a (cost) efficient, predictable and safe organization making the Operations Team a direct influencer of Anthony Veder’s business results. 
Anthony Veder is an innovative organization and a forerunner in the field of innovative technical concepts which facilitate a continuous improvement process. With your experience with leadership and operations in a shipping company, you feel confident dealing with new (technical / economic) concepts to steer your team to a higher operational level. The Manager Commercial Operations reports to the Chief Operating Officer.
 
Other responsibilities:
  • Ensure a cost-effective operation of the fleet conform the wishes of the client and the values of Anthony Veder;
  • Responsible for contract execution of the voyages and administrative procedures within Operations;
  • Fully controlled operation (in the office and through central control over the fleet);
  • (Shared) account management for Time Charter customers;
  • Drive operational excellence, analyze voyages, give companywide advice regarding Operations;
  • Responsible for monthly reporting;
  • Take part in or lead various meetings and closely cooperate with other department heads;
  • Keep knowledge about laws, legislations and regulations regarding operations up-to-date;
  • Be alert for changes in the market regarding Operations and effectively translate these to team goals;
  • Translate the Anthony Veder policy into department- and personal goals and coach your team in their personal and professional development throughout the year and during formal appraisal meetings;
  • Member of the Management Team;
  • Member of the Emergency Response Team;
  • Other activities that may reasonably be expected in this position.
 
What we expect from you:
  • Hold a Bachelor or Masters’ degree in Logistics / Maritime related studies;
  • Have 5 to 10 years’ experience in the operations / shipping industry;
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills as you will be required to analyze operational data to help improve efficiencies and to predict operational problems / opportunities (e.g. data driven proposals);
  • Responsible for setting and improving cargo related procedures (through delegation);
  • Coordinating root cause analyses for cargo related incidents;
  • Driven to eliminate variance in operation of vessels, through data analysis and data driven proposals;
  • Driven to increase logistical efficiency, through Operational Excellence;
  • Advanced communication skills in Dutch and English enabling you to discuss and negotiate for operational improvements and outcomes;
  • Connect with relevant parties to come to the best solution for Anthony Veder;
  • Demonstrable leadership skills and experience with managing a team;
  • Cultured in the maritime industry and experienced in internal and external relationship management.

Anthony Veder Rederijzaken B.V. is een Rotterdamse rederij, die sinds 1937 actief is in de scheepvaart. De enige gastanker eigenaar ter wereld, die in alle sectoren van vloeibare gassen opereert. Vanuit ons kantoor in Rotterdam bieden wij onze betrouwbare en flexibele dienstverlening aan, aan onze klanten, de meeste grote olie- en petrochemische bedrijven. Anthony Veder is een rederij die dienstverlening en service vooropstelt en waar de communicatie lijnen kort en effectief zijn

Onze vloot bestaat uit 26 moderne CO2, LPG, ethyleen en LNG tankers, waar veiligheid en kwaliteit hoog in het vaandel staan. Op de vloot zijn ongeveer 800 zeevarenden actief.
