Second Engineers



Would you like to contribute to and be involved in Wagenborg’s most recent pioneering and innovative project? Do you have a valid Certificate of Competence and Dutch endorsement  OIC of engineroom watch ?  Then we are looking for you!
Wagenborg operates the walk-to-work vessel for the Onegas consortium (NAM and Shell). The vessel will play a crucial role in maintenance and servicing of offshore platforms in the North Sea. The W2W vessel enables offshore operations to be executed more safely, efficient, effective and productive. The ships allows service and maintenance staff to work on several different platforms during one voyage. Offshore crew embark and disembark from the vessel to and from the platform and in case of emergency immediately evacuation is possible. The W2W vessel accommodates hotel facilities, workshops, cargo and spare part storage and is equipped with a motion controlled knuckle boom crane, a unique concept new in Offshore operations. The ship operates 24 hours 7 days a week in the North Sea.
As second engineer you are under the supervision of the Chief Engineer responsible for operating and executing maintenance on the technical equipment and systems in a safe way according to instructions of the company and customer. You execute maintenance and repairs to technical equipment and system. You are responsible for storekeeping of spare parts and stocks. You ensure safe working conditions, check regular safety equipment and fulfills watch keeping duties.  In order to protect the environment you will review procedures and report and follow up on anomalies, irregularities, and (near) accidents. 
In addition to the Wagenborg core competences (solution driven, cooperative and safe working) we ask the following competences: marine engineering, electric-, electronic- and control engineering, maintenance, safety and control, stress tolerance and adaptability.
Knowledge and experience 
Knowledge required by STCW, Offshore Industry and Customer demands, such as VCA-VOL, and a NAM Permit to work training. You have an excellent command of English, both verbal and in writing
ERRV experience and the possession of relevant OPITO certificates (ITSO) are a pre.

  • Valid applicable Certificate of Competence / Dutch Endorsement OIC of engine room  watch 
  • Valid passport; 
  • Valid Offshore Medical examination certificate;  
  • Valid STCW certificates.
