Master Towage

Job description

As a Master at Oceanwide, you are crucial for leading towage operations effectively and safely. You will command the tugboat and coordinate towing activities to ensure seamless cooperation between the ship and shore. Your responsibilities include meticulous navigation of the vessel, direct management of the crew, and ensuring compliance with all operational protocols and safety standards. You represent our company and our clients with professionalism and oversee communications with other ships and port authorities.
 
Duties/Responsibilities:

• Directing the crew and overseeing all aspects of towage operations.
• Navigating the vessel according to strict safety regulations.
• Maintaining communication with port authorities and other vessels.
• Monitoring safety during towing, both for the ship and the cargo.
• Identifying and resolving technical and operational issues in collaboration with the engineering crew.
• Reporting on progress and any incidents to the shipping company.

Job requirements

• Possession of required certificates such as STCW.
• Master's license with no limitations.
• At least 1 year of experience as a Master, preferably on towage vessels.
• Experience with ASD or Voith Schneider is an advantage but not required.
• Strong leadership and navigation skills.
• Knowledge of maritime regulations and towage operations.
• Proficient in English, both spoken and written.
• Proactive attitude and capable of handling emergencies.
