Experienced competitive Drycargo shipbroker

ForestWave Chartering B.V. – Breda

We are looking for a dry cargo shipbroker to strengthen our competitive chartering desk in Breda. ForestWave Brokerage provides brokerage and chartering services with an emphasis on the dry bulk, project, and heavy lift cargo markets. We arrange the most economic, reliable, and sustainable shipping solutions for our customers, covering tonnage from short sea coasters to Ultramax bulk carriers.

Responsibilities

• Negotiate and finalize charterparty agreements between cargo interests and shipowners, in short sea, deep sea, and multi-purpose/heavy lift markets

• Closely monitor freight market developments, shipping trends and innovations

• Take a pro-active approach to customers and potential customers to secure vessel charter orders

• Provide pre-sales market and logistics information to support the materialization of charter requirements

• Maintain and expand a network of shipowners and carriers in relevant trades and markets

• Follow up on post-fixture operations, including cargo operations in port, laytime statements, freight/demurrage settlements, and support/mediation in disputes and claims

What we’re looking for

• Experienced broker in dry cargo chartering or broking, with a track record of fixtures

• A network among shipowners, charterers and/or operators

• Good knowledge of charterparties, laytime and demurrage

• A commercial mindset and strong negotiation skills

• Fluent English; [Dutch / German / other languages] an advantage
