About the role: 

Location: Boyndie, Banff

Hours: Full Time 

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for the smooth running of production, working efficiently and competently to ensure that tasks are completed as per the company Work in Progress (WIP) List. You will also be responsible for assembling main parts and components to produce end product, as per engineering drawings. The Fitter will ensure products are manufactured efficiently, within the allocated delivery schedule as per operational planner and ensure all work is carried out in compliance with relevant Health and Safety guidelines.

About the team:

As a part of our Manufacturing team, you’ll become part of a hardworking, and skilled team who are always working to high standards and specifications.  You will be supported by our Fitting Chargehand, and have a team of skilled teammates working alongside you, whose goal, much like your own, will be to enable a quick and safe turn-around of equipment.
    
And you’ll be working alongside a committed and proud Motive team in the UK and globally that want to play their part in the growth of the business and support each other daily to create a positive, values driven and hard-working professional environment.

Responsibilities:

People

  • Adopt and promote the Motive Offshore Group People Values and ensuring their use is embedded throughout.
  • Develop strong working relations with key stake-holders – clients, colleagues etc.
  • To be a positive ambassador for Motive Offshore Group Ltd.

Planet 

  • Lead by example in setting the highest possible standards in the promotion of People Values, HSEQ procedures and best practice, ensuring compliance to the Motive Offshore Group HSEQ Policy, procedures, standards and regulatory obligations.
  • Immediately report all accidents, incidents, near misses or environmental concerns
  • Adhere to and participate in company-wide sustainability policies, procedures and initiatives as they are developed to support our Net Zero objectives.

Product

  • Carry out any mechanical machine modifications.
  • Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safe and efficient operations.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, work lists to determine what materials and equipment is needed.
  • Carry out electrical, hydraulic, piping, lining and plumbing as required, including dismantling when decommissioning equipment.
  • Ensure parts and components are appropriately greased and lubricated.
  • Raise supplier requisitions for any consumable items and any other shortfall material
  • Communicate with other departments within operations.

Required skills / knowledge:

  • Previous experience in a mechanical fitting or assembly role within a manufacturing or engineering environment.
  • Experience assembling components from engineering drawings and work instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
  • Mechanical assembly and fitting of parts and components to a high standard.
  • Understanding of Work in Progress (WIP) systems and production planning.
  • Competent in the safe use of hand tools, power tools, and measuring equipment.
  • Strong problem-solving and fault-finding skills.
  • Time served mechanical apprenticeship is preferred but not necessary
  • Attention to detail and ability to work on own initiative or part of a team.
  • Ability to prioritise.
  • Interest in gaining technical knowledge.
  • Good written and oral communication skills.
