As Marine Compliance Officer you help keep our vessels safe, compliant and certified. You support the Marine Compliance department in applying our Integrated Management System (IMS) and in meeting Class and Flag requirements across the fleet. You carry out internal audits, represent the company in external audits, and keep the fleet's certification and documentation in order. You report to the Marine Compliance Manager.

What you'll do

  • Review and update the IMS and other company and vessel documents

  • Support the DPA/CSO in implementing ISM procedures across the fleet

  • Audit vessels to check compliance with the IMS, Class and Flag requirements. This includes travel abroad.

  • Represent the company in external audits (Flag, Class, ISO) and support it through to successful closure

  • Follow up non-conformities from internal and external audits until they are closed

  • Prepare the annual audit plan for the office and the vessels

  • Liaise with Flag and Class on surveys and certificate renewals, and track Class surveys and certificates

  • Run document control for technical documents, certificates, drawings and plans, in hard and soft copy

  • Maintain and update the Planned Maintenance System (PMS)

  • Collect the latest Flag, IMO and IMCA circulars and pass them on to the vessels

  • Prepare internal fleet circulars, and track monthly IMS fleet documentation and incoming and outgoing correspondence

What you bring

  • A degree from a shipping college or a university

  • Seagoing experience as an Officer or Engineer

  • Good knowledge of QHSE principles and good familiarity with ISM, ISPS and MLC requirements

  • Understanding of Class and Flag certification processes

  • Awareness of shipboard operations and offshore working environments

  • Familiarity with ISO 9001, 14001 and 45001

  • Good command of English, spoken and written, and good MS Office skills

  • Well organised, with strong attention to detail. You work independently, juggle priorities and deadlines, and take a proactive, solution-oriented approach.

  • Good communication skills and a team-player mindset, comfortable working with multicultural teams and across departments

  • Willingness to travel abroad for vessel audits

Nice to have

  • Experience in shipping management

  • ISM/ISPS/MLC Internal Auditor certificate, or willingness to obtain it
