Piping Field Engineer

Position Overview

We are looking for an experienced Piping Field Engineer to support an FLNG project during the construction, commissioning, and related engineering activities at the yard.

The successful candidate will coordinate with engineering contractors and construction teams, review technical documentation, and provide field engineering support to ensure that piping activities are executed in accordance with project requirements, specifications, and applicable standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Review and coordinate piping engineering documentation and technical deliverables.

• Coordinate with Engineering Contractors regarding piping design, technical queries, and field requirements.

• Review and interpret P&IDs, Piping Material Specifications, Valve Specifications, and piping isometrics.

• Review piping arrangements against the 3D model and identify discrepancies or required modifications.

• Provide engineering support during construction and commissioning activities at the yard.

• Coordinate with piping, construction, commissioning, and other engineering disciplines to resolve technical issues.

• Follow up on field modifications and ensure that relevant engineering documentation is properly updated.

• Support the resolution of technical queries, site issues, and design inconsistencies.

• Participate in inspections, walkdowns, and technical meetings as required.

• Ensure compliance with project specifications, applicable codes, and engineering standards.

• Coordinate with piping stress engineers and other specialists when required.

• Support commissioning and start-up activities related to piping systems.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Piping Engineering, or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant engineering experience.

• Previous experience on a major offshore, FPSO, FLNG, LNG, or equivalent project.

• Experience working during construction at a yard through commissioning activities.

• Strong ability to read and understand:

  • P&IDs

  • Piping Material Specifications

  • Valve Specifications

  • Piping Isometrics

  • 3D piping models

• Experience coordinating with Engineering Contractors and multidisciplinary teams.

• Good understanding of piping engineering and field construction activities.

• Ability to work effectively in a project/yard environment.

Preferred Experience

• Previous experience coordinating with piping stress engineering teams.

• Knowledge of special piping supports and their engineering requirements.

• Experience on FPSO/FLNG or similar offshore projects is highly desirable.

Availability

• Candidates who are available to join at short notice are preferred.

• Candidates currently based in the UAE are preferred.

• Willingness to work at the project yard and support construction and commissioning activities is required.
