The Sales & Location Manager – Werkendam SMS is responsible for driving business growth across Mainland Europe whilst leading the day-to-day operation of Unique Group's Werkendam facility. The role combines commercial leadership with operational management, ensuring the location operates safely, efficiently, and profitably while delivering an exceptional level of service to customers. Working closely with the VP Subsea Mechanical Solutions and the wider global SMS team, the incumbent identifies new business opportunities, strengthens customer relationships, oversees local operations, and ensures the effective utilisation of people and assets. The role requires a proactive leader who is equally comfortable engaging customers, developing sales opportunities, supporting project delivery, and leading a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree, HNC/HND, or equivalent qualification in Engineering, Business, Marine, Offshore, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 7 years' experience within the offshore, subsea, marine, or heavy engineering industry.
- Proven business development, technical sales, and account management experience.
- Experience leading a business location, operational team, or workshop environment.
Technical & Professional Skills
- Strong understanding of offshore project execution and rental operations.
- Commercially astute with strong business development capability.
- Experience preparing tenders, quotations, and commercial proposals.
- Good understanding of operational planning and asset utilisation.
- Financial management and budgeting knowledge.

| Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development:
Develop and implement the sales strategy for Mainland Europe in line with SMS business objectives.
Identify, pursue, and secure new business opportunities across the SMS portfolio.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers.
Prepare technical and commercial proposals, quotations, and tender submissions.
Conduct customer visits, presentations, and business reviews.
Maintain accurate sales pipeline information, forecasts, and market intelligence.
Represent Unique Group at meetings, exhibitions, conferences, and industry events.
Location Management:
Manage the day-to-day operation of the Werkendam office and workshop.
Coordinate resources to support project delivery and customer requirements.
Work closely with Operations, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure successful project execution.
Monitor asset readiness, maintenance requirements, and utilisation levels.
Ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and local regulations.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives across the location.
Team Leadership & People Management:
Lead, coach, and develop the local team.
Allocate resources and manage operational priorities.
Conduct performance reviews and support employee development.
Support recruitment, onboarding, and succession planning activities.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Customer & Project Support:
Act as the primary interface between customers, operations, and the wider SMS business.
Provide technical and commercial support during project execution.
Coordinate activities with global SMS locations to maximise operational effectiveness.
Resolve customer concerns and operational challenges proactively.
Financial & Commercial Accountability:
Support delivery of revenue, utilisation, and profitability targets.
Monitor operating costs and identify performance improvement opportunities.
Support budgeting and forecasting activities.
Ensure accurate maintenance of CRM and ERP records.
Governance, QHSE & Compliance:
Promote and maintain a strong QHSE culture.
Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and statutory requirements.
Champion safe working practices and regulatory compliance.
QHSE Responsibilities:
Comply with the QHSE Management System and Integrated Management System (IMS).
Promote proactive risk identification and mitigation.
Report hazards, incidents, and non-compliance.
