Job description
As a Maritime Officer for General Cargo vessels (Marof), you are pivotal in both navigation and the management of the ship. You support the Master in all aspects of ship management, including navigation, safety, and crew management. You are responsible for coordinating the loading and unloading, maintaining safety procedures, and ensuring smooth daily operations on board.

Responsibilities:
  • Navigation assistance and support in maneuvering under guidance of the Master on duty.
  • Managing and coordinating all deck operations, including loading and unloading, maintenance work, and safety training.
  • Supervising and training the deck crew to ensure safety and skills.
  • Implementing and enforcing international and local maritime laws and regulations.
  • Active contribution to voyage planning, monitoring weather forecasts, and managing ship documents.
  • Acting as a liaison between Master and crew for optimal communication.
Job requirements
  • Possession of required STCW certificates, including a valid COC as a Maritime Officer.
  • At least 2 years of experience as a Maritime Officer at sea.
  • Extensive knowledge of navigation, leadership, and maritime regulations.
  • Excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • A team player who can work proactively and solution-oriented under pressure.
